According to Wikipedia, "Smoking is a practice in which a substance is burned and the resulting smoke breathed in to be tested and absorbed into the bloodstream".That means it is the habit or action of inhaling and exhaling the smoke of tobacco or a drug. It is a hard habit to stop because in the cigarette which is smoked contains nicotine which is very much addictive. After using many cigarettes, their mind and body have become used to nicotine quickly. At a stage, they are smoking to feel normal.
People depend to smoke not only cigarette, but they also used hookah(an eastern culture pot used to smoke). There is also a myth that is safer to use hookah than a cigarette because the smoke looks cool when it passes between water.
People who started smoking as teenagers, don't expect that they become addicted one day. So, they do not know the future death because of smoking.

Active smoking and passive smoking or second-hand smoking:

passive smoking or second hand smoking
Active smoking is when a smoker smokes a cigarette, pipe or bidis etc directly. This means when a man or woman is smoking a cigarette by holding with his hand, the man or woman is an active smoker.
Passive smoking or second-hand smoking is called also 'environmental tobacco smoking' sometimes. The meaning of the term lies in the word. In this type of smoking happens if nearby people smoke i.e; smoker smokes cigarettes, cigars, pipes, bidis, hookahs etc.
In this type of passive smoking, the smoke contains both gas and particles of the nicotine or this type of drug, which can change the density according to the environment and distribute near it.
In this type of passive smoking, smokers make an average of 2 to 10 μg / m3 nicotine around him.
The percentage of unpurified second-hand smoke changes accidentally. The structure of unpurified smoke depends on the type of smoking patterns, cigarette quality and on the type of the ingredient. The concentration in the air can be elevated in bounded spaces for passive smoking or second-hand smoking. As previously said, in the passive smoking, not only gas but also the particle of the cigar contains. So, passive smoking is more dangerous than active smoking.

how to quit smoking:

how to quit smoking
Stopping smoking is one of the most important things you can do to help improve your health. Stopping smoking will not only benefit your own health but your family’s health as well. there are many ways to stop smoking. You can get by googling it. Here, I discuss the method from NHS Health Scotland(go to the website). It can be divided into 4 parts, such as,

  1. Thinking about stopping
  2. Preparing to stop
  3. Stopping
  4. Staying stopped
  1. Thinking about stopping: Stopping smoking will positively affect the rest of your life – it’s worth doing properly if you started to think! like, I started smoking because '.....'.then think, Are these reasons still true today? Do you want to continue smoking for the same reasons? I think the answer is probably ‘no’.Think that if you quit smoking then, it helps you to improve your health as well as your family.
  2. Preparing to stop: To succeed in stopping smoking, it’s best if you do some preparation first. Consider a fixed day to stop smoking which is right to you. Think about the things that you associate with smoking. After taking a leave of 72 hours without smoking, write down which makes tough your day. Do which exercises make you happy. Take a walk. Start something new. Think something different. Play game.etc.
  3. Stopping: Stopping smoking with other people’s help can also make a difference. Researchers see that the more support you get, the better your chance of stopping smoking. If you use some help of doctors or academy with stop smoking medication, you are much more likely to succeed.
  4. Staying stopped: You may experience withdrawal symptoms when you stop smoking. You might feel slightly irritable, restless or low in mood. You might find it difficult to concentrate or have an increased urge to smoke. In this time, distract your self. The main thing to keep in mind is to stay away from smoking.

steps taken by the government:

According to Research, Singapore has been smoke-free since 1970. Hong Kong had announced the smoking ban law since 1982, but it applied on 2007. Countries like the Philippines (2002), Vietnam (2005), Brunei Darussalam (1988), Indonesia (2006), Bangladesh (2006), Pakistan (2003), Kazakhstan (2003), Malaysia (2004) have banned smoking in public places. Bhutan is the first country in the world to impose a total ban on tobacco products-sale and use. India makes the law of smoking ban in public places in 2008.

conclusion:

After a long discussion about smoking, we can see that the .side effect of smoking. It also is seen that the amount of bad reason is much more than the good reason behind it.
After all of this, I know that some reader is smoking continuously now in public or going to be.but always think that when you haven’t smoked for a few months, this could be a good time to look at other issues, including diet and weight. Use your new confidence and energy to make the other changes you want. Stopping smoking could be the beginning of a new life. Stay away from smoking and keep other safes.
